How we check facts
Sources we use
- Dubai Municipality: its service pages, the approved pest control companies list, the Food Code and its classification guide.
- Federal sources: u.ae and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
- Dubai law as published, such as Law 26 of 2007 on tenancies and Law 6 of 2019 on jointly owned property, explained with the help of law firm notes.
- Established news outlets (Khaleej Times, Gulf News, The National) for what the Municipality has said and when.
Prices published by companies and marketplaces are labelled as estimates, with the date we saw them.
Dates
Each guide shows when it was published and updated, and each source shows when we last checked it. Older news is described as old ("in 2016, the Municipality said…").
What we won't do
- Imply that we are, or speak for, Dubai Municipality.
- Rank companies or call any company "the best".
- Publish pesticide product names with doses or mixing instructions, or encourage anyone to use professional products themselves.
- Give medical or veterinary advice. For symptoms, see a doctor or vet; in an emergency, call 999.
- Publish invented quotes, reviews or experts.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, tell us. We fix confirmed errors and note material corrections at the end of the article.
